Spiritual Friends Seminar

Integrity is the alignment of one’s inner life with one’s outer behavior. Mutual accountability as cultivated through small group interaction (conferencing in the Wesleyan tradition) is a spiritual discipline that can lead to greater levels of integrity. This was the hallmark of early Methodism. Integrity must be forged within the context of intimate community, where attentiveness to one another and trust enable both honesty and vulnerability.

PROGRAM DEFINITION
The Spiritual Friends Seminars are 4-day retreats for ministry leaders and their spouses. The seminars will be held regionally for up to 50 people, couples and singles, and held in locations designed to support reflection, fellowship and spiritual encouragement. Each retreat will provide resources that nurture leadership development, spiritual formation and personal relationships. Participants will be immersed in many of the classical views of grace - prayer, worship, Bible study, fellowship, the Eucharist and journaling within the context of community. Plenty of time and space is allowed for rest, recreations, and renewal.

If you would like to attend a Spiritual Friends Seminar, please complete the registration form on this site.

What people are saying about SFS:

-- I believe my experience here will help me be a more balanced, nurturing leader in my church, particularly with my
   staff.
-- I’m renewed to be the kind of leader God wants me to be.
-- I learned to just relax and let God love me…and the importance of rest and play-that it’s spiritual!
-- I feel renewed spiritually.
-- [This retreat] reinvigorated and restored a spiritual relationship with my husband.
-- Loved the interdenominational mingling and meeting pastoral couples with the same and different struggles in
    ministry and family life.
-- I have had some wonderful moments with just God and me-I’ve experienced community-I’ve thrilled at the natural
world around me. Thank you so much!

SO HOW MUCH DOES ALL THIS COST? The cost is $50 per person. Car rental fees will not be reimbursed; however, all other costs (travel, accommodations, and meals) are reimbursed after the event, with the exception of meals and expenses during free time.
